Volan Technology’s Rapid Growth Accelerates with Key Leadership Hire and Board Director Appointment

HOBOKEN, NJ (October 28, 2021) - Volan Technology, the leader in People Positioning software for workforce management, labor analytics, site safety and security, today announces two key appointments to its team. Highly accomplished enterprise software and SaaS sales leader Steve Strachan has been named Chief Revenue Officer, while private investor and investment banker John Stellato--formerly of The Pritzker Organization--has joined the company’s Board of Directors and is a key investor.

“The addition of Steve and John is a major milestone for Volan as the market demand for our AI-based real-time location technology has grown even more quickly than I envisioned when founding the company,” said Michael Bettua, Chairman and CEO of Volan Technology. “They both bring a deep level of expertise and experience in scaling up companies for fast growth and are uniquely qualified to drive our company to continued success. I’m very proud to welcome them to the team.”

Steve Strachan, Chief Revenue Officer
Steve Strachan’s remarkable sales leadership skills have been proven in both early-stage software start-ups that grew into successful IPOs and acquisitions, as well as high-growth public companies, resulting in more than $6.4B in exits. Strachan began his career with PTC (NASDAQ: PTC) where he served as Senior Vice President of Sales, Southern Europe, and helped lead the company to achieve an astounding 47 consecutive quarters of revenue growth. He then held the position of Vice President of Sales, EMEA, for Geotel which was acquired by Cisco Systems for $2B. Next, Strachan joined enterprise software startup BladeLogic (NASDAQ: BLOG) where he drove sales from nearly zero to $50M in revenue in just three years. He also recruited, trained and developed a worldwide sales force of top performers. This positioned the company to achieve nearly $100M in sales and launch one of the most successful technology IPOs of 2007, leading to a $900M acquisition by BMC (NASDAQ: BMCH). Strachan followed that with a sales leadership position for software company SumoLogic (NASDAQ: SUMO) which also had a highly successful IPO in 2020 and is now valued at $2B.

Before he started his business career, Steve spent five years as a running back for the NFL's Los Angeles Raiders.

In his position with Volan, Strachan will devise an enterprise scale sales strategy, recruit and train a worldwide sales team, and drive revenue for the company.

John Stellato, Board of Directors
John Stellato has a successful track record for guiding the development of public and private companies throughout a wide variety of industries. Most recently, Stellato served as President and Chief Executive Officer of San Francisco-based online broker-dealer and investment platform LOYAL3. Prior to that, Stellato spent nearly 20 years with The Pritzker Organization, based in Chicago, where he served as Executive Vice President with responsibilities including the analysis, structuring, underwriting and negotiation of private and public investments, with primary management oversight for numerous businesses owned by Pritzker family interests.
